What this chapter covers

This chapter covers oil seeds and oleaginous fruits, miscellaneous grains and seeds, industrial or medicinal plants, and straw and fodder. Heading 12.07 takes in the remaining oil seeds such as palm nuts and kernels, cotton, sesame, mustard, safflower, poppy and castor oil seeds and shea nuts. Heading 12.09 is reserved for seed for sowing, so cereals, spices, dried pulses and the products of headings 12.01 to 12.07 and 12.11 stay out of it even when intended to be sown.

Rape or colza seeds, with low erucic acid varieties separately defined (12.05)
Other oil seeds and oleaginous fruits: palm nuts and kernels, cotton, sesame, mustard, safflower, poppy, castor and shea (12.07)
Flours and meals of oil seeds or oleaginous fruits other than mustard, including partly defatted ones and those with their own oil added back (12.08)
Seeds, fruit and spores for sowing: beet, grass, flower, vegetable, forest and fruit tree seeds, vetch seeds (other than those of the species Vicia faba) and lupine seeds (12.09)
Hop cones and lupulin (12.10)
Plants and parts of plants used in perfumery, pharmacy or for insecticidal or fungicidal purposes — basil, ginseng, liquorice root, mints, rosemary, sage, wormwood and the like (12.11)
Locust beans, seaweeds and algae, sugar beet and cane, fruit stones and kernels; hay, lucerne, clover, vetches and similar fodder (12.12, 12.14)

Not covered by this chapter

Products of headings 08.01 and 08.02 and olives do not fall in 12.07 (Chapter 7 or 20)
Residues of headings 23.04 to 23.06 are outside heading 12.08
Dried leguminous vegetables and sweet corn, even when intended for sowing (Chapter 7)
Spices and other products of Chapter 9 and cereals of Chapter 10 do not count as seed for sowing
Products of headings 12.01 to 12.07 or 12.11 stay out of heading 12.09 even when intended for sowing
Medicaments (Chapter 30) and perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (Chapter 33)
Insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and disinfectants of heading 38.08
Dead single-cell micro-organisms (21.02), cultures of micro-organisms (30.02) and fertilisers (31.01, 31.05) are not treated as seaweeds

1. 12.07 pozisyonu, diğerleri anlamında, palm meyvesi ve çekirdeği, pamuk tohumu, Hint yağı tohumu,

susam, hardal, aspir, haşhaş tohumlarına ve shea fıstığına (karite meyvası) uygulanır. 12.07

pozisyonu, 08.01 veya 08.02 pozisyonlarında yeralan ürünler ile zeytinlere (7. veya 20. fasıllar)

uygulanmaz.

2. 12.08 pozisyonu, sadece yağı alınmamış un ve kaba unlara değil, aynı zamanda yağı kısmen alınmış

yağı alınıp tamamen veya kısmen kendi orijinal yağı tekrar eklenmiş olan un ve kaba unlara da uygulanır.

Bununla beraber, bu pozisyon 23.04 ila 23.06 pozisyonlarındaki artıklara uygulanmaz.

3. 12.09 pozisyonu anlamında, pancar tohumları, ot ve diğer çim tohumları, süs çiçekleri tohumları,
