This chapter covers copper from its crude forms through to finished articles: copper mattes and cement copper, refined copper and copper alloys, powders, bars, wire, plates, foil, tubes and fittings, and copper household goods. The chapter notes set the composition thresholds on which classification rests: refined copper contains at least 99.85% copper by weight (or at least 97.5% where no other element exceeds the limits in the note's table), while a copper alloy is a metallic material in which copper predominates over each other element but the note's thresholds — or a 2.5% total of other elements — are exceeded. A subheading note further sets the ratios that distinguish brass (copper-zinc), bronze (copper-tin), nickel silver (copper-nickel-zinc) and copper-nickel alloys.

(c) Bakırın ön alaşımları (kupro alyajlar):
İçinde diğer elementlerle birlikte ağırlık itibariyle %10'dan fazla bakır bulunan ve işlenmeye
elverişli olmayıp diğer alaşımların hazırlanmasında katkı maddesi olarak veya demir dışı
metallerin metalurjisinde deoksidan, desülfüran maddeleri olarak veya benzeri amaçlarla kullanılan
alaşımlardır. Bununla beraber, ağırlık itibariyle %15'den fazla fosfor içeren bakır fosfor 28.53
pozisyonuna girer.
